COURSE DESCRIPTION
The learner will be able to define the difference between Scotch, Bourbon, Irish, Canadian and how whiskey distillation came first in Ireland, making Ireland the birthplace of Whiskey. The traditions and history of Aqua Vitae translated to Gaelic is Uisce Baugh (pronounced “Ish Ka Bah Ha) which eventually evolved into “whiskey” in English to the modern production and “The Irish Whiskey Act 1980”.
COURSE OBJECTIVES
The learner will be able to understand the production process of Irish whiskey and the legal definition of Irish whiskey outlined by the Department of Agriculture of the European Union. The learner will be able to define the four different styles of Irish whiskey and the raw ingredients and methods of production.
